i have just finished a new upgraded build and would like to know what is a fair price for my old build. Also, does anybody have any tips on the best way to sell a gaming PC? Is Shipping worth it or should I stick to local Craigslist or FB Marketplace? Thanks!

Bought a Samsung washer off Craigslist, needed a new gasket. Replaced it and ran a 20 minute spin/rinse cycle. Made sure it didn’t leak and left the garage. Came back to find the machine had shifted a couple feet across the concrete floor and the new gasket had disintegrated into many tiny pieces. Disintegrating seems most prevalent around inner attachment point.
Seems like the machine weight is off balance? I didn’t hear any aggressive tumbling, but it clearly had a violent effect on the brand new gasket.
Anyone experienced anything like this? Any advice to troubleshoot / repair?
Worst case I’m considering buying a new Samsung washer as it looks the same and should fit the mounting pattern to stack vertical.

Disclaimer - Again this is my experience with Homeroom coliving rental website that has rental houses/rooms in cities Kansas City (KC), Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, etc.
Guys…I went through a brief period of rental dilemma and wanted to share my experience since there is not much honest review about Homeroom Coliving, a rental/real estate management company. I was looking for an affordable room for rent due to a new job location outside Kansas City metro area. Came across this advertisement in Craigslist that posted new pictures of entire house and had room for rent for $550 and flat $140 utility charge. After texting the given contact, an agent gave house info solely on text…yeah that’s right, when I tried to call and set up an in-person visit tour the call would be direct to an automated voicemail that that suggests texting and one of the agent will reply. That was my first red flag and then I stopped. Couple of weeks later I found another rental room with similar price in a different area closer to my work place. Guess what it was mf Homeroom again. This time I patiently waited for the agent to set up an in-house tour where she was rushing me into signing a 12 month lease. I told her I can’t commit without a proper in-person visit of the house and maybe talk to couple of roommates living there. When I reached outside the house I texted the agent so that she could get me a temporary code to get-in. After waiting more than 5 mins I got the code via text and I entered in. The house seemed in good condition and that’s when one of the roommate walked out. We introduced each other and I found out that the house was 7 bedroom and 2.5 bath with just one kitchen and refrigerator. Thinking how it would be manageable to share one refrigerator with 7 people, I checked the vacant bedroom which was okay. Later the guy told me that they requested another fridge by it took Homeroom couple of months just to order it.
I got a text later asking if I was ready to sign the lease but I told them that I had few concerns that needed to be fixed before I sin the lease and would like to talk on phone. The agent told me to expect a call soon. After couple of hours I get a call from one of the agents and I addressed the fridge situation and they told me that in a couple of weeks new fridge will arrive. I told him that I like the room (#3B) that I toured and would go ahead with signing the lease. The agent tells me that there is some issue with the price posted on their Homeroom website. The actual price for that room was $700 and not $550 like it showed online and it was not available until later next month. I told him why the website would show up entirely something else and he apologized for the confusion. I asked him which property had a vacancy and he gave me couple of options and the hung up. Once again it was back to texting to a sole contact number and some available agent would respond at their convenience. After couple of weeks I toured a house which was old in midtown KC, the photos online were completely misleading as it showed new updated house but in reality it was way different. I ended up finding another decent place through Fb local rental group. I was perhaps astonished about how there were no honest review about Homeroom coliving besides their own on their website that brags how awesome they are. In a nutshell, I would like to quote one of the awesome people that I met during one of the house tour “Homeroom is a big swing and a miss”.

Hadn’t gotten a new console since the Xbox 360 Slim, but finally got a second-hand PS4 off of Craigslist a few months back.
It’s been a great stress reliever to get lost in story games after a long day of work (especially since it’s my first city away from home - KC native here).
Only problem? My PS4 keeps crashing all of a sudden after starting any game. Same error code every time: CE-34878-0. Supposedly a general error with simple solutions. I’ve tried them all, and yet my PS4 keeps crashing.
Any recommendations for PS4 in STL? I’d love to have games a day or two a week again…

Hey y'all! Long time reader first time poster! I have been making music for years but recently got more into VSTs, and hardware synths too. Unearthed a family member's old Alpha Juno-2, and got a deal on a deepmind 12, and my partner has a prophet 08! So we have been making music but basically all the VST + synths are coming out of the same Roland KC-200. Was thinking of getting 1) a second keyboard amp (prolly off craigslist) and 2) a set of monitors (both for mixing our music and also for playing drums or softsynths out of).

Anyone have a recommendation for what we should look for with either? Monitors under 400 for a pair would be great!

I need help with a Roland KC-300 amp I bought from Craigslist already broken. It didn't work at all when I got it. I took it apart and a large resistor (R93) had fallen off, its spot on the circuit board was visibly burned (as was its sibling R92). I soldered it back on and within seconds it was getting too hot so I shut it off. I bought new resistors and the same thing happened.

Smaller resistors (R82 R83) near the headphone jack also showed burn marks. They measured 23.3 and 18.8 ohms, respectively. The schematic specifies 22/0.5W. I replaced them both.
Also, the 3 prong power cable had its ground tooth removed.
Here are some measurements I took:
+/-50V coming out of the large filter caps (C96 C97)
314 ohm from the resistor that fell off (R92), and 326 from its sibling (R93), rated at 330/2W.

Hi folks, I'm looking to score some secondhand furniture from irl shops in KC (not keen on meeting a stranger from FB Marketplace or Craigslist etc). The problem is, lots of places seem to only be open during First Fridays. Ideally I'd love to get some basics sooner than a month from now. Any suggestions of good places open every weekend or at least multiple times a month?? Thanks!

This year is not like the other years. First of November on a monday. That pushes daylight savings back to next week. For the past 10 years my protocol for halloween week/weekend is the same. Find a cheap plane ticket to LA, DC, Boston, Chicago, wherever. Anywhere but Baton Fucking Rouge. I go see my cousins, I street race my uncles racecar with adjustable camber plates and a lightened flywheel at 120 miles an hour down the 210 between 134/710 and Michellinda with my uncle calling me a pussy, I visit the smithsonian, the art intstitute of chicago, fenway during the world series.
Anywhere. But. Baton. Fucking. Rouge.
I haven't been home for Halloween in almost a decade. But with covid, my schedule and life the way it is, can't travel this year. Couldn't travel last year. Couldn't do it the year before due to my lawsuit pending. I've been deprived of my halloween travel. That depresses me.

It's a nice morning out. My dad died and left galavanized steel shelving in the garage, and this will be perfect for stacking ammo. I rack up 57,000 rds of ammo and the steel does not even bend 1mm under the load. They don't make them like they used to. It's off the ground and away from the potential floodwaters during storm season. I've done my part. My new balance 624's are growing cobwebs. It's been 6 years since fire school. 10 miles a week in those shoes, running rain, shine, thunderstorm, you name it. The scale puts me at 248 pounds in PJ's. Time for my fatass to run.

I fire off an email to a regular customer. He asked me to get a RRA LEF-T15 for his left handed kiddo who's been doing well in school. I let him know everything is in and if he's back from his trip to Sandals Jamaica that he should let me know Monday or Tuesday when's good for him. Anytime a parent is buying a gun for a kid, I will do my best to make it setup right. Gotta raise them right with good equipment. I throw in a pair of MBUS magpul sights because he's trying to be a good dad.
My reading list this year has yielded some interesting books. I've read Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. It's changed the way I look at things, communicate, and do business. I've made a lot of mistakes in the past. But the only way to get better is to negotiate outcomes that are favorable to me. The idea of negotiation is for the other side to do what I want, and for them to think that it's their idea.
Negotiation November is my life project for November. I've laid the groundwork. I'm picking a fight with every telemarketer and threatening them with a private right of action on TCPA for $1500 that I can find. Why? Because as my brother says, I'm the biggest pain in the ass ever.

727AM; My alarm buzzes and I get in the shower and start plotting out my day. I've got to pick up my wedding suits from the dry cleaner, get breakfast and see dr kaplan.
8AM- breakfast and dry cleaning
9AM - check in with the boss at the finance company. Being a finance concierge is not easy but someone's go to do it. I run down all the problems we had last week that are spilling over and do my best to work up a plan to address everything. She gives me the schedule for this week. Conference calls from hell, cranky clients and we've got three projects we're behind on. The usual. Nothing I can't handle. I tell her to let me know if anything else bad happens. I will come to regret my choice of words.
10AM - Dr Kaplan says I've made progress. I'm having a tough time with work life balance. It's always lopsided. I'm asked to work on that a bit. It won't be easy, but nothing is.
11AM - I look at my brokerage account. I'm 100% in cash. I buy 1000 shares of Apple stock on my way to lunch.
12PM - I grab a quick lunch at chickfila. The boss calls me. One of our accounts has gone bankrupt and we've got to get on a conference call with Cravath right the fuck now. Goddamnit. I eat my waffle fries in a blitz and I get back to my home workstation and we all get on zoom and take care of business. This sucks. I really didn't want to have to shut down this business this close to the holidays.
1PM-4PM - I continue my journey of financial analysis and management. My friend Lenny sits across from me and we get to meet the players. Construction company owners, restaurant owners, bank vice presidents, there's 6 F350's in the driveway from the guests and that just tells you the kind of crowd this is. It's basically the Baton Rouge version of Tony Soprano's Executive Poker Game.

They keep track of buy ins, kills, they rake for the house to cover beer, chips, sodas, etc and they take a cut for a progressive jackpot for the december end of the year game. These guys take their poker really fucking seriously. I'm a decent poker player but this is a little intimidating, even for me. My poker face is pretty solid though, so I don't show it.
You want to see the difference between people who take poker casually or seriously? Sit at their poker table. Feel the table, the felt, the cards they use. If they're using a cheap craigslist table and hoyle plastic coated cards and chips you can buy from ebay or target, that's a casual player.
These guys had a nice fucking poker table. Copag's and KEM plastic coated casino quality cards. The chips were actual clay, embossed with no steel slug inside that you see with the clay composite chips. From the moment I sat down, I knew this was a bad idea. But fuck it, I'm doing this anyways.
My play tightens up considerably as I watch the guys rebuy in and shove chips in on lousy bluffs, chasing straights like skirts at last call, and putting my degenerate gambling proclivities to shame. I strategically pick off the weakest of the bunch one by one. When three people drop out we take a break and I'm offered the chance to buy more chips. One guy has bought in for $100 5 times. Others two or three times. Apparently you don't have to bust to buy more chips.
I'm in a bad mood. I know this is not a good idea. This is a bad idea. I'm doing it anyways.
I pull out my stack and I tell the banker I'm in for a dime. He says okay, and counts up chips.
I hand him the money and he brings back chips. When I hear it from the back room.
"WHAT THE FUCK! HOW MUCH MONEY DID THE NEW GUY PUT IN?"

Lenny's my friend. But he's not stopping me from that first place. My play tightens as I watch the four of them battle it out on the felt. My commanding chip lead whittles as the players drop. Pretty soon it's me, Lenny and one other guy.
I bust Lenny on an all in. He rebuys. Plays for a little, muttering "all you need is a chip and a chair" and makes it 5 hands before I bust him again. 12 years I've played cards with him and I've never busted him on an all in. And tonight, I did it twice. He gives up. It's me and one other guy.
I try to talk him into taking $1500 cash - I'll make up the $500 bonus out of my end. He says no. What I should have done was offered him a gun out of my inventory, that he could take home to the wife and claim he legitimately won it at a card game. But, I wasn't that smart. I've been in a bad mood. I knew this wasn't a good idea and I did it anyways.

The black chips I've shuffled three times effectively doubles his bet. Coupled with his dwindling chip stack puts just the right amount of pressure on. I should have made him the offer to take the extra $500 - or $600 because I'm about to bust him down bigtime. But, I didn't. I didn't think of it at the time. I was too busy watching for tells. He's hard to read. If he had the nut flush with the ace, he'd have gone all in instead of limping in. Or he's check raising me or slow rolling me. Fuck.
He calls all in and pushes the remaining chips in.
FC: I wanna see that flush. Call. You got the ace?
He flips over his cards as he congratulates me on the read.

I stack an immense tower of chips as he starts trying to figure out his way to claw back. I make the offer again and he thinks a chip and a chair is all he needs for the $2800.
Well, fuck I've already proved to about a dozen strangers I can play cards decently and separate them from their money. If I come in second, I'll be down $100. But, that's still sucky. I can't go on a self destructive gambling streak every time I have a bad day at work. This isn't healthy.
My chip stack then gets hit over and over with TWO STRAIGHT FLUSHES and a full house and he busts me down to second place.
I collect my $1000 from the house and the host congratulates me on a well fought battle with new opponents. He's impressed that two new guys walked in and both of them took home prize money. I'm invited to the grand tournament finale in December but I make up a lie and tell him work is picking up.
I drive home and mutter angrily to myself. I had that win in my sights. Fuck. I'm losing my edge. I'm not as confident as I thought I was. I thought I could negotiate a good outcome. I'm such a failure. This is the worst thing to fucking happen this week. I fall asleep wearing my shoes on the couch and I'm spent.

My alarm wakes me up at 757. I'm groggy. I'm tired. I'm cranky.
I look at CNBC. I have sold all my Avis stock last week. I didn't want the stress of owning it into earnings.
I present to you, my magnum opus of thickheaded. MY $250,000 CAR ACCIDENT.

I call the boss at 9AM and tell her that this whole working a bankruptcy thing is stressing me out and making me mentally unhealthy. I told her what I did monday, I was pissed off and cranky and I went to a poker game and dropped $1000 down and decided to take my frustrations out on everyone at that poker table.
She chuckled. I asked what's so funny.
She asked me how much money I won.
It's been a long time since I've met someone that knew me that well. She promises to take over the project and I tell her that I just need this one off my plate for a while. She understands and tells me that I made the right call talking to her. As we have this conversation I'm watching Avis get halted not once, not twice, but 9 times before 11AM.
I'm watching the apogee of this thing. It's breaking 500 as I'm looking down at my trade confirmation from last week that says CONFIRMED SELL.
Fuck me to tears, I could have used an extra $250,000. Goddamnit.
I finish the rest of the projects on my plate for the day and I leave early. I head over to Dannys house and he gets his jack out and helps me plug my tires because no tire place in town will plug anything within 1" of a sidewall. I'd buy a new truck, but I kinda missed out on that $250,000 this week.
Back in high school, my wish was that my successes were as spectacular as my screwups.
Maybe some things never change.
I grill a steak for dinner and I order some more Glocks for the upcoming gun show this weekend. A vendor has VP9's off allocation so I scoop up 12 LE's with night sights. I check fedex, they're behind and nothing is coming in on time. Just another day..... I sold my Apple and made $1000. Maybe this week won't be so bad. I just need to do that another 249 times. Fuck.
I head to sleep early.
Wednesday, November 3rd.
I get a call at 9AM from a guy who wanted to pick up a gun from the gun show. He was delayed on background check so I tell him I'll get his paperwork together. Be at my place at 11 and I'll have it ready. I get some work done, some cans from Silencer Shop get in and I print off some Gilbert and Sullvan Job title inspired form 4's and the 11AM no shows. Fuck that guy.
I get an email chain from some guy in northwest ohio asking me to sell him a glock 43 shipped to his house. Paid via paypal. but I have to ship first because he does not trust me, but he's sending it to his shawtys house so it's all legal. He also wants to pay me when it comes in so he's protected under paypal purchase protection. He also wants me to add in some "full mags hallows only" and when I tell him ammo is $50 he complains about me taxing him. He tells me that he's in ohio and I should pull up and we can do a cash deal. I ask him pull up? this isn't a 737 max. he does not get it. He mentions he can move all sorts of choppas, dracos and any glock with beams or ladders. I foroward the message to the ATF Violent Crime Task force Great Lakes region.
I'm forwarding the message as my left handed rifle buyer comes in, he had a bender in vegas and was telling me how the casinos are full and the hotels are cranking. Might buy some more Wynn before earnings. Hmmm. Super nice guy and his kid will love that rifle. Instant background check and correct form the first time. Life is good. I finish projects and I call it a day at 330. I take a few hours off and go back to work looking at spreadsheets until 11.
Thursday.
I work. I snag some JPM at $167. I sell all my JPM into the close at 168.31. I book $1300 for two hours work. Maybe this week won't be that bad. I get one transfer in. It's a birthday present surprise for a regular. His older brother got an FFL and set him up with an Accuracy International 338 LM, Schmidt Bender PMII, rings and everything. I wish my brother was that nice. Hahah. I call him up and he's pleasantly surprised at his awesome brother. This is one of my easiest projects this week. I get form 4's kicked out the door and call it a day by 330, I take a break and get some more emails to the ATF task force answered. I decide to fuck around with my old fire chief and I tell his agency admin that I want all his run sheets for the past 5 months. The ripple effect through the leatherhead telegraph is fast. I get a call 2 hours later telling me everyone at city hall is on edge. I laugh.

I think I got scammed by Craigslist. I know many of you are like, yeah - duh, but a little background. Getting divorced and need a home for myself and daughter. Getting desperate as the market for rentals that accept pets (cat and large dog) is slim (seriously one house in entire county I can afford (did I mention I'm a teacher?).
Anyway, thought I found something on Craigslist, texted and emailed all day with the "Landlord" (using this term loosely). The day has been a roller coaster of emotions and me not ever knowing if I really got hustled or not. How can I find out? I have his name, supposed address (in KC), and phone number. I filled out a rental application. He approved it. I filled out a lease agreement, he approved it. I sent a deposit and 1st months rent and when I went to get the keys from the lock box, another family was looking at the property and my code to get into the lockbox didn't work. Texted "landlord" and he said it was late and we could do it tomorrow. Honest opinions only please. My heart strings have been tugged enough.

So, I'm thinking about just uprooting myself and moving to Sioux Falls. Currently living in Kansas City, born and raised, but I want to get out. I've traveled a lot around the country, but most other places where I know people are significantly more expensive than Kansas City. Housing prices/Rents have exploded over the past 5 years to the point where rent for an apartment is nearly double what it was a decade ago.
Reasons I'm thinking of checking out Sioux Falls are that there seems to be way less crime there than here, it's not as big, but also just from going on craigslist and stuff, it seems like housing is more affordable there. It's funny when I go online to cost of living calculators it says housing is more in Sioux Falls than KC but it just doesn't seem to be the case when I actually look at prices. Housing prices alone are up 25% over last year here in KC, and the average rent is now over $900...it's just insane unless you have a good job, which I don't lol.
I'm 30 so I'm not young anymore, not super concerned with if there's a big party/club scene idk just wondering if it's a nice place to live. Also I like that you don't have state income tax and your city doesn't demand 1% of your salary as tax in addition to that

I’m transplanted up into a tiny town about an hour north of Topeka, living with family, on unemployment since late January after my employer in AR closed due to Covid hitting business (restaurant), and trying to put out financial fires and stabilize given the sudden shift.

I ask for proof on any of this and he sends me documents that are clearly fake. One was a pic of a CDC document about how masks don't work. The doc is full of grammar errors and was clearly written by someone who wasn't a native English speaker. He sends these ridiculous videos where someone has a youtube channel in their mom’s basement or these low quality videos looking like poorly done propaganda.
He also sent list of a ton of Hollywood actors that have been executed because of their participation in pedophilia. I’ll attach it later when I get a chance.
He sent me pics of JFK JR that are clearly photoshopped rather poorly done as proof of him being alive in 2021
He said that FBI raid from a few days ago in Miami, where 2 agents were killed, is just the beginning. He uses some real stories to fit into his make-believe world
On a side note- as we are texting, he is telling me about how he is selling something on craigslist. He tells me the guy sent him a check for $2000 more than what the item is worth for extra shipping and he should send him the difference back in good faith. He doesn't think it is a scam and the transaction is legit. He deposited the check into his bank and doesn't think there is a problem with it.
My Point is, he clearly has something wrong in his brain. Sitting at home all day for the past year in his house with nothing to do, he got sucked into this and believes everything he reads on these sites. He thinks he isn’t crazy, I’ve told him to get professional help. He admits that all his friends and family think that he is crazy for believing all of these things but insists he is correct.
I find it fascinating and yet sad at the same time. I can imagine how many other people fell down this same rabbit hole. Social media is partially to blame. There are definitely good things and bad things with giving anyone a platform to spread their message. Strangely, people tend to believe a complete stranger’s opinion over someone with credentials. Yes there are problems with the media pushing their agenda. These companies make their money by ad revenue and compelling stories. We’ve all heard the “If it bleeds it leads” growing up.
I used to wonder why people gave money to televangelists, fell into cults, or believed in crazy conspiracies. After knowing the history of my friend and the events in his life, it sort of makes sense how/why he fell down this rabbit hole.

I’d been contemplating it for a little over a month now & finally pulled the trigger on it this week.
Nothing crazy, 4.5 cubic yards but I’m hoping to get it to pay for itself by the end of the year.
I’ve posted it on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace, I’m in a fairly good sized market (KC) & I’m working on figuring out a business name so I can make a Google business page.
The Plan is to offer dumpster rental & junk removal and see which one ends up bringing in more business. I like the passive side of the rentals (drop off & pick up) but I feel like there’s more money to be made on the junk removal side.
Open to any tips but I just kinda wanted to brag a little & make a post I can come back to and let everyone know how things went.
